About Us...
Club 2000 is a sport and leisure club for people with disabilities, including learning disabilities, who live in Telford and Wrekin—and beyond! Application for Membership is open to anyone over the age of 16 and costs £50 per year. There is no upper age limit, and you don’t have to be disabled to join—you just can’t compete in the disabled sports competitions.
Club meets on Thursdays at Madeley Court Sports Centre from 6.15—9.00 p.m.
If you would like to find out more about Club 2000 just come along to The Madeley Sports Centre on a Thursday evening or contact Sheila on Telford 405169 or 07904 180428; Sue Harris on Telford 244721 (work) or 255267 (Home) or Anne Devere on Telford 585678.
New members are advised to attend for three Thursdays before completing a membership form and paying the subscription.
If you want to join or become a volunteer and can’t get hold of anyone on the phone (or simply don’t want to ring first), then just TURN UP! We don’t bite, honest!

At the moment we have 146 members (by the time you read this there will probably be a few more!), and approximately 80 of these turn up regularly on a Thursday night.
Our swimming team, coached by volunteers Sue Harris and Anne Devere, are VERY successful, and we have 4 members who train once a month with the West Midland Swimming Team in Birmingham.
Several times during the year we go to other people's sports days - Rugby Sports Day for the Disabled (May) is the first, and usually Stafford Sports Day (September) is the last. As we get the dates through we will put them on the Calendar page.
We go on non-sporty trips as well, invading Barmouth on the last Saturday in July each year. We usually manage to fit in a visit to The Sun Centre in Rhyl early on in the year, drop in on somewhere like Drayton Manor Theme Park or Chester Zoo and anywhere else that the members ask us to take them (if we've enough time during the year and sufficient volunteers to go along to keep everyone safe).
The highlight of the year for many Club 2000 members is the annual long weekend at Butlins. We used to go to the Skegness camp, but these days it's Minehead - it's slighter warmer on the South Coast and easier to get to. This weekend is generally during September, and 43 members and 10 volunteers go along and have a lot of FUN!
