1 Nov 2008 - Volunteer Matters - Because Volunteers Matter!
Bethan Williams, our 'Drama Queen', is putting together a Talent Show starring Club 2000 members. So far she's got three singers, some comic turns and a couple of sketches based on well known TV soaps. She's hoping to give her budding stars an airing after Christmas with a public performance involving V Involved, the volunteering organisation that she found us through. Watch the 'What's On' bit of this web site or the 'Dates for your Diary' page in the news letter.
Both Bev McCarthy and Steph Shelvock have passed their Mini Bus Driver Assessment (MiDAS) and are set to join our team of volunteer drivers. They will each drive on the North Telford run once a month, giving Norman a chance to catch up on coffee bar business. He's struggling a bit, having two very important jobs to do on the same night! Either Bev or Steph will be able to cover for our other regular volunteer driver Brian if he wants a night off.
CONGRATULATIONS to volunteers Keith and Debbie Jones - they are expecting a little brother or sister for young Zak sometime next year! Well done both of you!
Welcome to two new volunteers - Sarah, from V-involved, is going to be helping Beth with the drama group, and Denise has been converted from being a Club 2000 member's support worker, to a CLub 2000 volunteer!
I'll try to remember to bring my camera one week and take some pictures of our volunteers, so we can have a sort of 'rogues gallery' so you know who's who!
Cheers,
Sheila.
