21 May 2008 - Queens Award for Voluntary Service
Club 2000 was nominated by Gail Bonella-Foster of Shropshire Community Council for the Queens Award for Voluntary Services.
A letter arrived yesterday from The Cabinet Office of The Third Sector. Sorry folks, we didn't make it. Still, it was lovely to have been nominated - thanks Gail. You got a mention in the letter as well! However, all is not lost, for the letter goes on to say:
"However, starting this year those groups that are judged to be close to the standard for achieving the Award will be re-entered into the nominee pool for up to an additional three years, and it gives me great pleasure to inform you that your group has been recommended for this process. Assessors will review your group's nomination in consideration for an Award during this period and will be in touh if they have any further enquiries into the work of your group."
So there we have it. Fingers crossed for next time.
