19 Apr 2008 - Birthday Party

On Saturday 19th April Club 2000 members, volunteers and guests gathered at Madeley Court Sports Centre for their 10th Birthday Bash.

There was music, singing, laughter and a lot of fun - not to mention loads of food - as we partied the night away.

Amongst the Honoured Guests were Councillors Denis Allen, who has helped us no end in our fight to get back into our usual Club Rooms after they were closed for refurbishment; Councillor Andrew Eade, Top Bloke at Telford and Wrekin Council; and Councillor Veronica Fletcher who first came to us to present the prizes at our very first sports day and found that she liked us so much that she's stayed in touch ever since!

Neil Wilday from CARE Ironbridge provided live music.  The idea was to give our usual entertainments team of Howard, Bob and Colin the night off, but, whilst Howard was quite happy to be in the audience, Bob and Colin just couldn't resist getting up on the stage and playing their 'air guitars'.  I think they lasted about an hour amongst the audience!
